Hallelujah Junction is one of the best known American localities for smoky quartz, with its scepter crystals in particular becoming highly recognisable. While the locality has produced an enormous variety of forms, the most interesting specimens those that express something familiar in a new way, which this scepter does particularly well.
The main crystal rises from a natural section of host matrix with an exceptionally long crystal, with both the stem and the scepter head drawn out into an unusually elongated form. The head remains very close in width to the stem beneath it, creating an almost continuous line through the length of the crystal rather than the sudden expansion more commonly seen in scepters, resulting in a smooth profile.
The smoky colour is concentrated through the long stem, while the termination is clearer and catches the light beautifully.
The matrix is equally important to the composition, anchoring the main crystal and allowing the specimen to self stand at a naturally inclined angle. The unusual proportions are precisely what make this piece so special.

What happens if a specimen sells while I'm checking out?
Most pieces are unique and available in a quantity of one. A specimen is only secured once checkout has been completed successfully.
Do you combine shipping?
Yes. If you purchase multiple specimens, we'll combine them into one shipment wherever practical. Any excess shipping charged at checkout can be refunded once your order is packed.
Are repairs or restorations disclosed?
Yes. Any known repair, restoration, reattachment or treatment is stated in the listing.
Can I purchase a specimen as a gift?
