Here is a slender smoky quartz from Diamantina with a gentle natural curve through the crystal and some of the most intricate surface texture in this pocket.

The quartz is exceptionally clear and highly lustrous, with a cool, lightly smoky colour through the body and a sharply defined termination. What makes the piece especially compelling is the preservation of its natural surface. Fine horizontal striations, subtle raised markings and irregular growth patterns run across the column faces, creating an almost digital texture that becomes increasingly detailed under close inspection.

This crystal came from the same pocket as the larger Diamantina smoky quartz in this collection, and both show just how much character can be retained when this material is left unpolished. The natural patina gives the crystal a complexity that would be lost through polishing, while the slight curve through the form adds another point of individuality.

The combination of clarity, lustre, surface detail and that gently curved growth makes this a particularly refined example of natural Diamantina smoky quartz.
