Here is a beautifully formed smoky quartz crystal from Thanh Hóa Province, with a pronounced cathedral like growth habit, remarkable internal clarity and intense lustre across the crystal faces.
The crystal rises in a strong tapered form, with stepped parallel growth building along the prism faces toward a sharply defined termination. The surface is highly reflective, with deep horizontal growth features that catch the light across successive layers and give the crystal a particularly architectural appearance. Despite the depth of smoky colour, the crystal retains excellent internal clarity, especially through the upper body, where light passes cleanly through the quartz and reveals subtle internal structure.
The base is naturally associated with pale feldspar embedded directly into the lower quartz, providing a strong contrast against the darker smoky crystal and adding mineralogical interest to the specimen. The feldspar sits within the crystal base rather than appearing as a separate attached fragment, giving the lower section a particularly integrated appearance.
