Here is an unusually complete natural crystal from Cordeiros, with multiple stacked phantoms that fluoresce under UV light, and a fully developed hematite capped termination.

Although this material is typically sold as amethyst the colouring is comparatively subtle, with soft lilac zones through otherwise pale quartz. The real feature of the crystal is the series of internal phantoms that run through the body. These fluoresce strongly under UV light due to powellite, but what makes this specimen particularly unusual is that the phantoms are also clearly visible to the naked eye in normal light.

The termination is equally significant. In the natural material we've handled from this locality, complete terminations with a developed hematite cap are exceptionally difficult to find. We have seen occasional partial examples and small areas of hematite coating across individual faces, but nothing with a termination this complete. This is the most fully realised crystal of this material that we've seen.

Much of the Cordeiros production reaches the market polished, so the preservation of the natural crystal form is important in its own right. Here, the stacked phantoms, UV reactive powellite and complete hematite capped termination are all retained together in one specimen.
