Here's another unusually large natural amethyst “dragon’s tooth” from Bahia, with deep violet colour through the upper crystal, stacked smoky phantoms in the neck, and a long tapering body that finishes in a distinctive double pointed tail.

At 235mm long and just under a kilogram, the specimen is exceptionally substantial for this style of Brazilian amethyst. The upper section carries strong purple colour, excellent translucency and a natural, unpolished termination, while the lower body gradually narrows into a completely natural tail with two separate points.

This double pointed taper gives the specimen a particularly unusual profile. Rather than finishing as a single point, the lower growth divides into two narrow terminations, preserving more of the original crystal structure and making the silhouette far more interesting from different angles.

As with the larger dragon’s tooth in this collection, the most remarkable feature is the preservation. Material of this scale is very often polished, while this example remains natural throughout. The combination of size, weight, rich colour and the unusual bifurcated tail gives it a very distinct presence in hand.
