This ocrahedral fluorite is from the Milpo mine in Peru, and features prominent Geocronite-Jordanite crystal accents that add a further layer of texture to the detailed patina.
The star of the show is really the Geocronite-Jordanite. Several well defined crystals sit prominently against the fluorite, distributed in a way that compliments the overall balance of the composition. Their sharp metallic forms provide a sensational accent for fluorite, while smaller crystals continue around the specimen and become partly embedded along the sides.
The fluorite itself is richly detailed, featuring subtle stepped growth, frosted areas and small transparent windows that showcase a vibrant interior. The overall effect is very typical of the more mineral rich Milpo combinations, where the associations are as important as the fluorite itself.
