In normal light it presents predominantly purple, with a defined margin and numerous small schorl crystals crossing and penetrating the surface. Under stronger backlight, a vivid yellow green interior becomes visible beneath the darker outer zoning.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeside it sits a large, deeply striated schorl crystal, with further aggregated tourmaline growth creating an exceptionally detailed reverse. Hyalite opal is concentrated through portions of this association and fluoresces bright green under UV, giving the specimen a different appearance under ultraviolet light.
