One section near the base has been contacted and exposes the colour zoning particularly well. Looking directly through this area reveals a brighter apple green interior surrounded by deeper turquoise outer layers, with clear separation between the zoning.

There’s a lot of metallic association here too, with dark Geocronite-Jordanite gathered heavily around the base and along one side of the fluorite, accompanied by fine pyrite and small sharply defined cubes. The metallic matrix extends around much of the lower specimen and gives it a particularly mineral rich appearance.

It's a chunky piece at over 93g, and the the contacted area is reflected in the price, making this one particularly good value for the size, colour and association.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1020/1815/4628/files/6D1B2A17-74FA-47BC-B4DA-73044E10167A.jpg?v=1789855977
36-fluorite-with-pyrite-milpo-mine-peru
Fluorite with Pyrite, Milpo Mine, Peru

Minerals: Fluorite, Pyrite
Locality: Milpo mine, Atacocha mining district, Cerro de Pasco, Pasco province, Pasco, Peru
Dimensions: 30mm x 22mm x 34mm
Weight: 27.7g

This beautifully detailed fluorite from Milpo features a modified octahedral form, with strong stepped growth across the surface and a wonderful transparent window at the termination.

The colour is a richly saturated green in natural daylight and revealing an intense electric green when backlit.
